Gliddon & Squire Cross Country January Race Info
Please read this important announcement regarding the race on Northam Burrows on Sunday 15th January. Letters have also been given to all runners that we know of.
PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY
January’s Gliddon & Squire League race is being held in conjunction with the Westward League at Northam Burrows, Westward Ho! and is being hosted by Bideford AAC with support from North Devon AC.

The course will be available for inspection from 10:30am with the first race at 11:30pm.
The full Race programme is as follows:-
11:30am G&S League ONLY – UNDER 9 GIRLS RACE: (1600 metres)
11:45am G&S League ONLY – UNDER 9 BOYS RACE: (1600 metres)
12 noon UNDER 11 GIRLS and UNDER 11 BOYS RACE: (2400 metres)
12:20pm UNDER 13 GIRLS RACE: (3200 metres)
12:40pm UNDER 15 GIRLS and UNDER 13 BOYS RACE: (4000 metres)
1:00pm UNDER 15 BOYS and G&S SENIOR WOMEN RACE: (4800 metres)
1:30pm UNDER 17 MEN/WOMEN and SENIOR WOMEN and G&S League SENIOR MEN RACE: (5600 metres)
2:20pm SENIOR MENS RACE: (8600 metres)
Please note that the Under 9 Races are for Gliddon & Squire League runners ONLY.
All other races combine both leagues at the same time but to score in the Westward League runners must be members of a club affiliated to the Westward League and a Club vest must be worn.
As is the norml with Westward League the Under 11 Boys and Girls run in the same race.
U11 Girls and Boys will be scored separately for the Gliddon & Squire League
Senior Men and Senior Women who usually run in the Gliddon & Squire League have TWO RACE OPTIONS.
1. If they are a member of a Club affiliated to Westward League they may run in the longer races at 1:30pm (SW) and 2:20pm SM of they wish. They will not therefore be able to score in the Gliddon & Squire League.
2. If they are not a member of a club affiliated to the Westward League they can only run in the 1:00pm race (SW) and the 1:30pm race (SM) and will therefore only score in the Gliddon & Squire League.
PLEASE NOTE THAT A FINISH DISC SYSTEM WILL BE USED IN ALL RACES OTHER THAN UNDER 9s
A finish disc will be issued to each finisher at the end of the finish funnel showing his/her position. Runners who are not in clubs affiliated to the Westward League should place their finish disc in the collection box at the end of the funnel – all others must pass their disc to their Club Team Manager to be recorded for the Westward League.
